Comfortable, cosy cottage sleeping 2 people in one double room. South facing garden and views over the cliff headland. . Close to Mewslade.

Jack Gibbs, a local tenant farmer on the Penrice Estate, using cliff limestone, handmade bricks and some beach-combed timber, built the Slope in the early 1900’s. It is a vernacular building that on the outside looks more or less as it did when first built.

An addition to Mewslade View next door, it was built as a small dwelling for summer use when the owners let the house and moved into the Slope for the summer. Jack died in France in WW1.

We completed a sympathetic conversion on March 1994 using mostly traditional techniques and recycled materials. It works well and is much admired by visitors. It is small but perfect for two people.

The Slope is a one up one down building with its own south-facing garden and off road parking. There are views over unspoilt cliff headland, Mewslade Valley and the Bristol Channel to the North Devon coast and Lundy Island.
It is a 750-metre walk down a footpath, over National Trust land to Mewslade Bay. This piece of coastline is arguably the most spectacular on Gower if not South Wales.

The accommodation comprises of:-
Downstairs a kitchen and eating area with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle.
There is a shower, toilet and washbasin located off the kitchen, under the stairs.

Upstairs a light and airy bed- sitting room with two chairs, double bed, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. There is a television, DVD playr
There is WiFi
Outside there is garden furniture
We make no secret that the accommodation is small but it is comfortable and competitively priced.
