Fferm Llong cottage is a recently converted barn on a working farm. The history of this property is fascinating; in its long existance it has served as the local inn and has been host to Scott of the Antarctic expedition companion Edgar Evans.

Ship Farm has been in the Beynon family since the early 20th century but the family link with Rhossili began when Owen Beynon was granted a lease of land in Rhossili in 1796 which the Beynon family continue farming to this day.

Fferm Llong cottage has been tastefully converted and is situated within walking distance to all three of Rhossili's bays, sleeps 5 (+1). There are two bedrooms; 1 double and one triple (bunk beds and a single) with a fold away bed that can be used for a sixth person. This remarkably spacious cottage also comprises of a open plan kitchen/diner through lounge and a spacious bathroom.

The kitchen/diner is fully fitted and contains a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric fan oven, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. There is also a wooden dining table and chairs. The floors are finished in natural stone.

The lounge has two settees and occasional furniture. There is a tv with Freeview and a DVD player. Exposed beams add to the cottage feel and there is an electric log effect fire. The cottage benefits from oil fired central heating throughout.

Each bedroom has a built in wardrobe and drawers. Bed linen is provided.

The bathroom contains a bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and toilet. There is an electric shaver point over the basin. Towels for use in the cottage are provided.

There is a patio area with table and chairs for those who like to eat outside.

The cottage is all on one level so may be suitable for wheelchair users or those that have difficulty with steps. The closest beach is 5-10 minutes walk. The nearest restaurant/licensed premises is also 10 minutes walk. The nearest shop is only a short car journey away.

BOOKING

No contract shall exist until confirmation and a non-returnable deposit of £150 per week has been received. The total is payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. Provisional booking can be made by telephone or e-mail but must be honoured with a deposit within 5 days.

CANCELLATION

Prior to six weeks before arrival date the non returnable deposit of £150 per week will be forfeit. No other payment will be required.

Less than six weeks before arrival date, the full amount will be forfeit.

‘The first school in the village I can find a record of was held in a stall belonging to the Ship Inn, opposite it and still used as a stable. In the eighteen-fifties the teacher was an old village woman, then about 1860 the school was moved to what was the village almshouse, occupied by four or five people on parish relief.’
