Byre Cottage is part of a beautifully renovated stone barn conversion, situated in the Gower village of Horton – a place that has remained unscathed by the passing of the centuries. This spectacular coastal location on the Gower Peninsula provides a perfect setting in which to escape and explore all the folklore, legend and history on offer. The region is designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Beauty’ and boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery, richest wildlife and varied habitats in the UK. The cottage is ideally placed as a base for walking holidays. The Gower Coastal Path takes in Horton, Worm’s Head Rhossili to the West and Three Cliffs Bay Oxwich to the East. The more ambitious walker can follow the full length of the Gower Coastal Path supported by the efficient Gower Explorer bus service if required.

Alternatively Byre Cottage is also perfect for a more relaxing, romantic break or just simply ‘to get away from it all’.
Although newly refurbished the cottage maintains its original character with traditional Gower stonework and beams. Its name reflects the building’s history as part of a working dairy farm.

The property consists of a well equipped studio style kitchen and lounge. The light and airy kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.

The living room boasts a comfortable leather corner suite. The combination flat screen television /DVD player receives Sky Plus. There is a coal-effect electric fire and central heating throughout the property. French doors lead onto the balcony and down stone steps to the enclosed garden. Internal stairs also lead down to the spacious double bedroom with large fitted wardrobe.

The en-suite has a bath and overhead shower, toilet, hand basin, towel heater and shaving point. French doors lead from the bedroom onto the flagstone patio where there is garden furniture and a BBQ. Here you can relax outdoors while enjoying sea views from the cottage garden and pergola.

To reach us: Leave the M4 at junction 42 and follow signs for Swansea. On reaching Swansea drive on the A4067 along the seafront past the university towards Mumbles. At Blackpill turn right (brown sign for Gower) onto the B4436 through Kittle. After Kittle turn right then left on to A4118 (signposted Port Eynon) for approximately 13 miles. Just before Port Eynon you will see a sign on the left for Horton. Proceed along this lane and take the second turn right down the hill into Horton village. Go past the village hall and continue until you see a sign on the right for Great House Court. Turn in and Great House Barn and Byre Cottage are directly on your left.
