Let me introduce myself. My name is Selina Taylor and I own and
manage "Gower Holidays". I live in Rhossili,
the most western point of The Gower Peninsula, South Wales although
I am originally from Bradford in West Yorkshire. I fell in love
with Gower in 1989 when I came here to camp as a Guide near Oxwich.
We found that Gower had something very special to offer us and we
returned nearly every year for our camp. Nine years later I was
blessed in being able to make this wonderful place my home.
In 1997, after studying for three years
I attained an Honours degree in Information Technology and Spanish
at The University of Glamorgan. I then worked for nearly five years
for a software house that developed Oracle based systems as the
Oracle Database Administrator. Through the course of my job I was
constantly being told that "The internet is changing everything"
and as a tech-chick, I thought that it was about time that I hit
the web. The rest, they say, is history...
I began creating my business
in February 2002, before leaving my job to become self-employed
in August 2002. My intention is to provide online information and
advertising for businesses in Gower and Swansea within this portal.
In time, I hope to make Gower Holidays the ulimate advertising experience
for anything that contributes to make Gower what it is today. In
addition I am able to produce commercial web sites for those businesses
that wish to have the independence of their own site. Why not take
a look at my portfolio
so far?
I am currently working
on a mobile version
of the web site, for the accommodation pages at least, that will
be viewable on a mobile phone. I think that if it works, it will
be very useful for people "stranded" in Gower and looking
for soomewhere to stay.
