Llanrhidian Sands is the Gower side of the Loughor Estuary. The fresh
water river Loughor flows down the centre of the estuary, but the sea
reaches all the way to Penclawdd's cockle beds at high tide.
The salt marshes stretch from Crofty to Llanrhidian, where The Groose
(the Western end of Llanrhidian marsh) is located.
Whiteford Sands lies
directly to the West of Llanrhidian Sands.
