The Gower Peninsula in South Wales was designated an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956. It was the first place to be assigned
this title in the UK. Thankfully, little has changed since that time
and you can still appreciate the extreme contrast in topographical
makeup from the sprawling, wildlife estuary in North Gower, over the
wild moor of Cefn Bryn to the sloping fields, dramatic limestone cliffs
and long sandy beaches of South Gower. In fact there are probably
not many places where you can see so many natural features squeezed
into such a small area.
As a result, the Gower Peninsula is
a very popular holiday destination and attracts a large number of
visitors every year. They come from all over the world for beach
and walking holidays and also the fabulous water-sports.
This website brings you details of holiday accommodation within
Gower, including Self-Catering, Bed & Breakfast, Caravan &
Campsites and Hotels. It also provides background information on
Gower villages, the breathtaking beaches and scenery and a wide
array of sports and activities to take part in when you get here.
Did you know that Rhossili Bay was voted to be the best beach in the UK in June 2010? Why not come and judge for yourself? |
